RV detailing prices in Los Angeles, per foot

RVs are priced per foot of length, because the surface grows with it. What the price buys: a hand wash and hand dry, a roof cleaned with what its maker allows, gelcoat compounded out of direct sun, and a crew that brings its own water and power to wherever the rig is parked.

MotorcyclesPer bike: wash or full detail$149

A 30-foot Class C, wash and wax: from $720. No minimum per visit and no travel fee inside the service area.

What changes the price:

  • Length and height: a Class A or fifth-wheel roof needs a ladder or a platform.
  • How chalky the gelcoat is, judged on a test spot, not from a photo.
  • Interior condition: pets, smoke or mildew.
  • The site: lot rules and room around the rig.

A wax on its own is the RV wash and wax above; see also mobile car wax service. All our prices: car detailing prices in Los Angeles.

Boat detailing near you: at the trailer, the storage yard or the slip

Boat detailing from MNG comes to your trailer at home or a dry-storage yard across LA County outside the Antelope Valley, plus Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. A full boat detail is a hand wash with phosphate-free, biodegradable soap, oxidation removal on the gelcoat, Collinite No. 885 Fleetwax, and the deck, vinyl and metal cleaned. Priced per foot.

Boat wash from $29 per foot; oxidation removal (compound, polish, wax) from $59 per foot; no minimum. A boat wax on its own: boat waxing. Boat ceramic coating: from $129 per foot.

Where your boat isWhat we do thereWhy
On its trailer at home or in dry storageThe full detail, including machine compounding of oxidized gelcoatNo water under the work: California's Division of Boating and Waterways asks boaters to "Minimize boat cleaning and maintenance in the water" (DBW)
In a slip, Marina del ReyWash-downs and hand-applied wax onlyThe harbor rules allow "only minor emergency repairs and normal wash-downs" on vessels in slips (Marina del Rey)
In a slip, Long Beach city marinasHand wash and hand wax, no machine"No mechanical devices when cleaning vessels, HAND WASH ONLY", with biodegradable, phosphate-free cleaner and tarps between boat and dock
In a slip at King Harbor or another marinaConfirmed before bookingEach marina sets its own vendor rules

Marina rules and permits. In Marina del Rey, hull cleaners and other businesses working in the harbor need the county's Commercial Services Identification Card (LA County); in Long Beach's city marinas, paid work needs a City business license and a Marine Vendor Permit, on weekdays or weekend mornings (Long Beach). We check the marina's rules and permits before we book a slip visit. We don't clean hulls in the water: LA County requires in-water hull cleaners in Marina del Rey to be certified in practices that cut copper pollution (LA County).

A full boat detail: a fresh-water hand wash with a phosphate-free, biodegradable cleaner; hull sides above the waterline and topsides; the non-skid deck; vinyl seats cleaned and UV-protected with 303 Aerospace Protectant; stainless and chrome polished; windows and isinglass; gelcoat compounded where chalky, then polished; and Collinite No. 885 Fleetwax. Not included: bottom paint, in-water hull cleaning, and engine or bilge service.

Why gelcoat takes a compound. Cured gelcoat is about 18–24 mils thick (Fibre Glast), roughly 10–16 times a car's 1.5–2.0-mil clear coat (DeFelsko). That is why chalky gelcoat is routinely compounded back to gloss; it is still a finite layer, so we compound only as far as the oxidation goes.

Just a wax? Boat wax, what goes on gelcoat and its price per foot are on boat waxing.

Motorcycle detailing near you, at home or in the garage

Motorcycle detailing in Los Angeles at your home, garage or office: a hand wash with no pressure washer, degreased wheels and engine, polished chrome and paint, conditioned leather, and the chain lubed after the wash. A full detail takes about three to four hours and is priced by bike type, $399 for a standard or sport bike.

Motorcycle wash $149 (standard, sport, cruiser) or $179 (touring, bagger, trike); full detail, paint sealed with Gtechniq C2v3, $399 or $529; motorcycle ceramic coating from $749.

  1. 01

    Engine and exhaust cool first

Harley-Davidson Insurance's guide says to wait "at least 30 minutes to an hour after riding" (H-D Insurance).

  2. 02

    Exhaust plugged, electrics covered

The exhaust with "rubber plugs or even a small, waterproof bag" (the same guide); the electrics and intake covered too.

  3. 03

Hand wash in shade, no pressure washer

"The high-pressure spray can force its way into bearings, seals, and electrical components" (the same guide), and sun dries soap into residue.

  4. 04

    Wheels, engine and frame degreased

With a bike-safe cleaner over the water-capture mat, since the City of LA bars untreated runoff carrying oil and other vehicle fluids from the storm drain.

  5. 05

    Dried, polished, conditioned

Dried by hand and blower; chrome and paint polished; the leather seat and saddlebags conditioned.

  6. 06

    Chain cleaned and lubed

After the wash (the same guide).

Polish, wax and dressing stay off the brake discs, the tire tread, the grips and the pegs. For the tank and fenders, add a ceramic coating (priced above), or tank film in XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS, from $699, on paint protection film. Bike detailing after rain or a coast ride keeps salt and grit off the chrome.

What's included in our mobile RV detailing service

  1. 01

    Roof first

So nothing runs onto a clean sidewall.

  2. 02

The roof scrubbed with what its membrane allows

On EPDM rubber: no petroleum solvents, harsh abrasives or citrus cleaners; Dicor's caution is "You may cause irreparable damage to your roof" (Dicor). TPO and fiberglass roofs get their maker's own products.

  3. 03

    Sidewalls and caps, top down

Hand washed with a mild detergent; no ammonia and no caustic cleaners (Crane Composites).

  4. 04

    Black streaks

Removed from under the gutters and windows.

  5. 05

    Hand-dried

So LA's hard water doesn't spot the finish. The whole wash runs on a water-capture mat with our own water.

One RV detailing service for every class of RV, done where it is parked.

RV types we detail, by length

RV types and typical lengths, from Go RVing's comparison, with what each means for the detail
RV typeTypical lengthNotes for the detail
Class B (camper van)16–21 ftVan paint; most have no rubber roof; a compact interior
Class C motorhome25–35 ftThe cab-over bunk is a common leak and streak point
Class A motorhome21–43 ftTall: the roof and caps need a ladder or a platform
Travel trailer20–35 ftIncludes Airstream-style aluminum (see oxidation below)
Fifth-wheel trailer21–40 ftA tall front cap; slide-out seals
Truck camper8–20 ftPriced as a small RV
Sport utility RV19–39 ftA rear cargo garage

Lengths are Go RVing's (comparison); travel trailers and fifth wheels with a garage are detailed the same way. Your exact length is on the registration or the maker's spec sheet, and we price from it.

RV wash: exterior, roof and black streaks

Why white streaks come back. An EPDM roof "does oxidize slowly; it's supposed to", and owners see it run down the sides when it rains. Dicor's answer is cleaning at least four times a year, "more often if your local conditions and experience warrant", and it answers "No" to whether a rubber roof needs UV protection (Dicor FAQ). So we don't sell a UV treatment the roof maker says it doesn't need. A "touchless RV wash" is a bay, not a detail: we wash by hand. A wet roof membrane "may be extremely slippery" (Dicor), so crews work from a ladder or a platform and walk a roof only where its maker rates it walkable.

Oxidation removal and wax on fiberglass and gelcoat

The chalk on an RV sidewall is oxidized gelcoat: "Sunlight, heat and moist air combine to oxidize the gelcoat surface, fading it and making the surface cloudy" (Crane Composites). A rig parked outdoors in Santa Clarita, Simi Valley or the Valley gets all three. A wash and wax "once or twice a year" keeps the finish, and when it has weathered badly "compounding will be necessary" (Crane), so we compound and polish by machine, test a small area first, then wax. Crane says "Do not wash and wax your RV in direct sunlight", so we work in shade or book early morning, and it puts maintenance at every 6 months, or every 3 months or less for a rig kept out in the elements. Painted caps and full-body paint are clear-coated like a car and get car-paint rules: less cut, measured.

  • Airstream and aluminum. Airstream says "Most auto products are safe to use on your Airstream, so long as they are safe with clear coats", wiped "with the grain, front to back horizontally, and never up and down" (Airstream). Polished, uncoated aluminum is a separate job, quoted on request.
  • Ash after a fire. Ash on a roof or awning is rinsed off, never dry-wiped: OEHHA warns that ash from burned homes and buildings can hold caustic materials, that wet ash can burn skin, and not to wash it into storm drains (OEHHA), so we work on a water-capture mat.

RV interior detailing

  • Galley and appliances wiped inside and out.
  • Bathroom and shower.
  • Floors and carpet.
  • Upholstery and dinette cushions, shampooed on request.
  • Window blinds and inside glass.
  • Cab dashboard and seats.

Black and grey tank service isn't part of a detail.

Where we detail your RV: driveway, storage lot or campsite

  • Storage lots. On City of LA streets posted under LAMC 80.69.4, an oversize motor vehicle (over 22 feet long or over 84 inches high) may not stop or park between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. without a LADOT oversize-vehicle permit; the City Council adds street segments and LADOT posts the signs (City Clerk). Torrance goes further: no oversize vehicle and no trailer of any size on a public street without a City permit (TMC 61.12). So we detail motorhomes where they are kept: in the lot, with the lot's permission, or at the curb where the rig is parked.
  • Campgrounds and RV parks. Park rules apply, and we check them before booking.
  • Driveways and the street. Fine where your HOA allows it. We bring our own water and power, never your hose.
  • Runoff. The City of LA bars untreated wastewater from "mobile commercial or industrial operations" from the storm drain system (LAMC 64.70.02 B.1), and LADWP allows "No runoff onto streets, driveways, and gutters" (LADWP). A water-capture mat goes under the rig, so nothing reaches the gutter.

What we need from you: the RV's length and type; permission from the lot, park or HOA; clear space around the rig; and slides retracted or extended as we ask.

RV, boat and motorcycle detailing FAQ

How much does RV detailing cost in Los Angeles?

Per foot, because the surface grows with length: an exterior wash is from $14, a wash and wax from $24, oxidation removal and wax from $69 and a full detail from $45. A 30-foot Class C, wash and wax: from $720. Height, oxidation and interior condition move the price, and every price is published and bookable online.

Can you detail my RV at a storage lot, a campground or in my driveway?

Yes, with our own water and power, never your hose; the lot, park or HOA must allow it, and we confirm before booking. On LA streets posted for oversize vehicles, a motorhome can't park from 2 to 6 a.m. without a LADOT permit, and Torrance keeps RVs and trailers off its streets, so we work where the rig is kept, on a water-capture mat. No travel fee.

What does RV detailing include, and how long does it take?

The roof first, cleaned with what its membrane allows; sidewalls and caps hand washed and dried; black streaks, windows and wheels; Gtechniq C2v3 sealant; oxidized gelcoat compounded on a test spot first; the interior on request. Time depends on length and package: a 30-foot wash and wax takes most of a day.

What's the average cost to detail a boat, and how much to buff a 20-foot boat?

Boats are priced per foot and by how chalky the gelcoat is, so we publish our rates instead of an average: a wash is from $29 per foot, a wash and wax from $39, and oxidation removal (compound, polish, wax) from $59. Buffing a 20-foot boat is that last rate times 20, with no minimum. Dark hulls, heavy chalk and a slip instead of a trailer change the quote.

What does a full boat detail include, and how long does it take?

A fresh-water hand wash with a phosphate-free, biodegradable cleaner; hull sides and topsides; the non-skid deck; vinyl cleaned and UV-protected with 303 Aerospace Protectant; stainless polished; chalky gelcoat compounded and polished; and Collinite No. 885 Fleetwax. Not bottom paint, in-water hull cleaning or engine service. The time depends on length and oxidation, and your quote gives it.

Can you detail my boat at the marina in Marina del Rey, Long Beach or King Harbor?

At a slip, only hand work: wash-downs and hand-applied wax. Marina del Rey allows only normal wash-downs and minor emergency repairs in slips, and Long Beach's city marinas allow hand washing only, with vendor permits. We check each marina's rules and permits before we book a slip. Machine compounding is done on the trailer or in dry storage, as California's boating agency advises, and we don't clean hulls in the water.

How much does motorcycle detailing cost, and how long does it take?

A wash is $149 and a full detail $399 for a standard, sport or cruiser bike; touring bikes, baggers and trikes are $529. A full detail takes about three to four hours: hand washed with no pressure washer, the engine cool, the exhaust plugged and the chain lubed after. More in motorcycle detailing.

Can you detail my RV, boat and motorcycle in one visit?

Yes, when they are parked together, in a storage lot, a side yard or a toy hauler: one booking and one arrival window, with each priced from its own table. We can wash the tow vehicle too, on the mobile car wash menu. Tell us the lengths and where they are parked.
